One key to a successful end result of properly printed fabrics is that of the pre-treatment. Each fabric requires specific testing to ensure the chemical reaction of the ink chemistry to the surface coating is ideal and results are as expected. Saturation, color, bleed and general appearance are all as a result of proper pre-coating of each fabric in relation to the overall chemistry. Our chemists develop pre-treatments and coatings, test each fully and profile for continuity.
In-house fabrics offers pre-treated, color profiled base cloths and specialty fabrics ready for print applications. Each project is assigned to the appropriate printing facility, as an 'in house' project or throughout our network of printing operations specializing in a unique areas of digital printing. This ensures the success of a program; each requires specific applications to get the desired end result.
CUSTOMER'S FABRICS
Many of our customers rely on specific suppliers for continuity in their product; some require novelty fabrics not part of our normal fabric library. Whatever the case, we offer testing services to use your fabric and identify which pre-coating and processes are ideal for optimum results. In order to test, we require a minimum of 10 yards. For a color profile, additional yardage is required. Once formula tested, profiled and process tested, we retain this information for future fabric printing needs. The exception to this is polyester. We can print directly to polyester via heat transfer or with pre-coating, via direct digital.
